I hope you live on a safe block. Does he know not to go in the street? Obviously you know that you could lock the window, but what about bars?
My sisters kids always go out by themselves. They live on a dead end and a lot of kids play outside. I would never allow it by themselves. She used to lock the highest lock during the day, but they learnt to just bring a stool.

| yea I'll screw the window shut, like I did in the kids room, the first time they (both boys then) climbed out. and yes I live on a safe block and he doesn't go on the street, but still the scare. it's just a fire hazard to screw the window shut, I live on the ground floor 8: 8:

How are his comprehension skills? If this is really kiddie 'running away' (vs. trying to do somehitn I am not allowed) - what if you pack a bag and put it by his bed and tell him the next time to give you a kiss goodbye b4 he leaves! (that way you have a heads up and can flllow him!)
If it the I'm-going-to-do-this-b/c-mommy-said-no, then all Ican say is HATZLACHA RABBA!!!! Seriously though, what about an alarm system where the windows are included so if the window is opened you know!

| My friend's son did that a few months ago when he was about 2.5. he got up before her, climbed out of the crib, unlocked the gate at the top of the stairs, unlocked the front door & left. A neighbor, about to go walking, saw him & brought him home! Now she put a door at the top of her stairs with a high lock.
