In other words, the same ingredients as stuffed cabbage but layering in a 9 X 13. I heard there are some delish recipes around that are simple.
Anyone know of any?

Yes! My mother has made this my whole life and it is delicious and foolproof. We call it "Unstuffed Cabbage."
Head of cabbage, sliced into 1-inch strips
bottle of ketchup
1 liter of ginger ale
1-2 lbs. ground beef or ground turkey
finely chopped onion
2 eggs
1/4 C rice
pour ketchup and ginger ale over cabbage in a large pot. Simmer. Combine meat, onion, eggs and rice and form into ovals or balls. Drop into simmering sauce. Add a pinch of powdered ginger to the sauce (optional). Cover. Simmer 1-1/2 hours.
Adjust thickness by adding more ketchup or ginger ale.
So easy, just sits on the stove. Freezes and reheats very well, too. _________________ Mom to 4 blessings

We also make "unstuffed cabbage" but its really sweet and sour meatballs
you put a jar of marinara sauce into a pot, add a can of whole cranberries and half a head of cabbage shredded. Then mix the chopped meat with an egg, bread crumbs, spices, etc
then just make meatballs- we like to make them very small.
I serve this over rice as an appetizer but its can also be a main dish.

| There is one in either kosher palette or kosher by design. Sorry I don't know the details.
