Is it customary to have to call Dell numerous times and speak with 15 different Indian technicians and then wait a week for a technician to come down to do repairs on a computer under warranty?

Whose Customer Service is better? What's the solution?

Do people who need their computers all have a back-up computer for these times? What do they do otherwise?

Yes, this customary. You're not alone - they have the worst cust. svc in the world. I have the hardest time understanding them and even harder time getting them to understand me. But they did replace my broken monitor.

You have to drive them nuts that they just give in to you the first time. Like when you say my keyboard is broken, it's cracked they will say well let me first try to fix it over the phone. You say no you don't understand it's physical it's cracked, I need a new keyboard. Also I always ask for a supervisor because they all don't know what they are saying. And just keep on demanding for a supervisor. You have to make them nuts back to get what you want. Sometimes I will even make the problem worse just to get what I want fixed faster without going through all of their garbage protocols.

My laptop keyboard broke a couple months after I got it and they sent me a new one but I had no idea how to replace it cuz their instructions werent very helpful. My husband who I was going out with at the time put it together on our first date Very Happy funny story.

My husband bought a $5000 computer system from dell and it automatically came with gold support which costs about $300 but he never used it because he probably knows more about computers than they do.
