When I think of all the horrible and corrupt actions taken by certain politicians (and I'm not mentioning anybody in particular, and any particular administration, wink wink) I think it's just silly to focus on marital fidelity as a huge issue.

I do wonder if this will have any effect on the Hillary campaign, with those who are nostalgic for the good old Clinton days suddenly being forced to remember the bad old Clinton days too...

I also think that proven adulterers should resign. I think it is a horrible sin to hold up an adulterer (or anyone who committs an immoral act) as the best example that a government can offer its people.
I know you used the word "proven," but if all adulterers resigned their posts, the halls of government would be so empty there would be wind whistling through the empty capitol buildings and cobwebs everywhere.

LOL. Frankly, I don't *care* who is having relations with whom, or who has a *wide stance* I care about positions on the issues, and what actions politicians take (or do not take).

Spitzer is something of a different case, however. He didn't engage in consensual acts; rather, he engaged a woman (women, it would appear) whom he paid. He's also quite the hypocrite, having held himself out as pure as the driven snow, and even prosecuted prostitution rings. Should be resign? I need more information before I can opine.

I do have the greatest sympathy for his wife and daughters. Imagine being in high school and having everyone you meet know that your father paid women (probably not much older than you) thousands of dollars to engage in acts euphamistically referred to as *unsafe*
