| First of all how do you know that people that buy 10,000 bedroom sets ask for tuition breaks. And usually the parents pay for the bedroom set and then you are on your own so what does one have to do with the other. And someone who has expensive furniture should have pride to them. Just like I couldn't use Wic I wouldn't be comfortable asking for a tuition break, it all goes together.

| Crest and Blitz's furniture is made in China and that's why they are cheaper. You get for what you pay for. If you want cheap you can have cheap. Loefflers has furniture made in Italy and furniture for cheaper made in China. This way the customer has a choice but of course you can't compare Italian stuff is so much nicer.

| amother, the reason I mentioned blitz was because of their procing... if you read the thread you will see that most people commented that they wouldnt spend for the italian stuff. personally I think its wirth it because there is definitley a difference in quality and will last way longer,,,, but I was listing another option for people that are not looking to spend that much

| the furniture you get at crest is exactly the same as other stores most wood comes from canada and the only way it says made in italy is because they do the finish in italy it doesnt make a difference the reason the price is higher is due to the worldwide shipping. I am happy with my furniture its great wood and a great finish on top. Trust me all the furniture places get the same furniture from the same places they all have the same catalogs and show rooms.

we bought furniture all over and so far we are happy with the service and price evrywhere. we actually so far got lucky with most of it and happened to get it on a sale. chanukah sale, pesach sale ect.....
dining room set- kingdom furniture in boro park
couches- s&s in williamsburg
dinette set - living quarters in boro park
sons bedroom set- everything but the baby in crown heights
daughters bedroom set- the childrens room in williamsburg
we actually like to shop from stores that have a showroom where yopu can actually see the furniture and not from a catalog.
I live in crown heights and the reason why I dont get all my furniture from everything but the baby is because I cant shop from a catalog and believe me I tried it everytime I needed to get something but its just not happening I need to see what im getting.

My friend bought from Kingdom and is so unhappy. The furniture is junk, and the upholstery was already coming apart when it was delivered. Their customer service is terrible as well and they have not taken responsibility for anything.
If you want a place you can trust try TGI. Our family has used them for years and they sell quality furniture. They stand behind their products and have great customer service. They will tell you if the piece is made in China, and if it's still good quality or not. _________________ Really Awesome Mom!

| I am really happy with Taubus-Frankels furniture. I get everything from there, I got a beautiful well priced bookcase a few years ago that is still in great condition as well as a couch, dining room set and coffee table that were really good prices for good quality stuff. Everything still looks new. They are easy to deal with and honest.

UPDATE ON MY ORIGINAL POST:
We finally got a bookcase/china closet from Sanders furniture (we had gift certificates to there)
We got it 3+ yrs. ago. My sister's looks exactly the same as ours, but she got it for 1/3 of the price in Frankels.
Ours is still holding very strong.
My sister's - the doors started falling off the hinges within the year.
DH's friend also got one from Frankels. Within 2 months, the shelves started sinking under the sforim.
These stories are not "hearsay". DH & I have actually seen them.

I should add, that probably Frankel's does have dif. qualities. So I'm not saying that nothing there is good. Each store has their specialty. But it doesn't pay to buy a bookshelf every 3 years. Makes more sense to spend more to last longer. And if their specialty is cheaper prices, then there are those customers who'll do better by them.
something doesn't sound right about what I wrote, but I can't think straight. so try to make some sense of it.
I'm off to bed. (Hopefully, if kids let!)
