there was a place "Golden Acres" somewhere upstate NY - you could look it up to see if they're still there.

You don't say where you live, well actually you mentioned upstate NY, so if that is where you are reffering to there are a number of them in Upstate NY. But it all depends where u are and how far you wish to travel..

it was me Laughing
I was anonymous because I wrote this a while ago while I was still trying ti stay anonymous. and the fact that I love horses is a big give away.
torahmom:
I'll go anywhere in the US.
I just want good riding.
I want ti be able to ride till I drop (for an affordable price, on a good horse)

If you'll go anywhere I know there are lots of dude ranches in the S.W. part of the country. When I was a kid my parents took me to such places out in New Mexico, Arizona, etc. We'd go on riding trails every day. I can't remember the names of the places and it was a long time ago.... but maybe do a web search or call a travel agent.

actually I've contacted the dude rancher's association, and have done web searches, and I've narrowed it down.
but looking at advertisements isn't the same as hearing someone's personal experience.
I want a very specific thing, and I don't want to pay a lot of money, and then be unhappy with my trip because my expectations were unmet.
