I really want to get my bath clean. It always looks dirty. What products work? I usually just wipe it wit a sponge and a regular bath cleaner but all the yellow stays - just the hairs go. Someone told me toilet cleaner works - anyone tried that?

Yes, when I was working as a housecleaner.

It does work, but you need to rinse the tub really well...or you'll get burned. Make sure to wear gloves.

You could also try salt...it is an abrasive and a lot safer. Just use it with some mild soap.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just tried the salt and its slightly better. I probably need to scrub harder but I dont have the energy.

I hear that scrubbing it with a pumice stone removes some nasty buildup. never tried it myself, though. you can also bleach it overnight.

vinegar removes water stains, but it does stink! If you fill the tub with water and put about 10% vinegar, leave soak for a few hrs it should do the trick.

Do NOT scrub your tub or sink with a pumice stone, ever!

the yellow might be from bleach that has worn away the shiny finish. It might always stain no matter how often you clean it-until it is refinished/glazed

I just found this new trick, take a lot of lemon salt and mix with water so it becomes pasty, and slather it on the stains, leave it there for a bit, then use those silver scouring pads and try to get it off. gl!

You can try scrubbing it with this bath cleaner called Zud. Unfortunately, it could be that the enamel has worn off of your tub and you won't be able to get rid of the stains. That's what our bathtub is like - it looks dirty even when it's just been cleaned out.

I was still able to get some stains out with Zud. My friend told me about Zud after trying everything to get stains out of her tub - and now it looks like new.

Unfortunately, our enamel is worn down, so Zud wasn't able to work miracles.

I had yellow stains in my toilet and I used CLR and it came right off. It really works.
