Sheitel cost

How much does a "good" sheitel in human hair cost? Some length, but definitely not down to the behind type.

Other question, when I got married my hairdresser was also my sheitelmacher, and I bought what was according to her the "best" sheitel available, and the lightest colour they had. It is dark blonde.

Now, the sheitelmacher in Paris tells me
- for sure there are lighter sheitels, just not "in places like Mea Shearim".
- it may be the best sheitel there, but here it kinda s*cks. A good sheitel would be 1800 euros (abt 2600 dollars).

Is she trying to get my money, or is that true?

I think your best bet is to call some reccomended shaitelmachers on the phone, and speak to them about what they reccomend. A semicustom- which is not a custom but a better quality wig should definitely not need to cost that much. And they can look great. My one reccomendation is that if the fit, color etc. seems to be off, don't listen to them if they tell you how it will be fixed...

So, maybe just get some reccomendations of shaitelmachers that people really trust and have patience to deal with someone from a distance, call a few and hear what they have to say.

Ruchel the longer the hair the more expensive. But a good qaulity sheitel with light hair a about 4-6 past your shoulders will cost atleast that amount of money $2500 in NY. Thats just what I have heard, but I am not a sheitel macher but thats what friends of mine have mentioned when they have bought thiers. Blond and red are more rare and cost more.

Freedas sells there longish wigs in blonde for about 1500-1700

In the US you can get (even a blond) semi-custom for $1000 or less.

Here, I just picked this one at random, not endorsing anything...and it's custom, not "semi-custom". Meets your specs. of "some length but not down the back". It's from savvy sheitels and part of the "two for one" deal, so you could get another one for free.

I've never paid more for my sheitel being blond either Wink
