the heat ... this is why you need a humidifier ... to wet the air ... or put some water near the heaters ... _________________ don't wonder why people go crazy ... rather wonder why we don't

It's probably less humid outside where you are this time of year, and thus less humid inside. I agree with greenfire's advice to use a humidifier. I'd put one in each bedroom. The humidifier has made a huge improvement in sleep quality for me; not only do I not wake up in the middle of the night and each morning thirsty and with a headache, but DH snores a lot less!
I also bought a few cheap digital thermometer/hygrometer devices from WalMart that tell me the temperature and humidity. It's recommended to keep the humidity around 40% so the t/h helps me adjust the humidifier.

raqchel19977, we just moved to a part of the country where the air is VERY dry and we were VERY not used to the dryness. my husband and I got sick, throats hurting, all that great stuff:)
we right away put on a humidifier and it got MUCH better. the air just becomes moist and that helps all the way.
try the humidifier, I think, preferably a warm aired one. it should make the air in the room / house / apartment much moister thereby making the throat much moister as well.
it has helped us a looooot.

Hmm. Thanks. We have a cool air one that was purchased here in Israel, don't like it, it's hard to clean. Wish I bought one from the USA....
The cool air one seems to work, just need to find a good place to put it so the kids don't get into it and the "Cool" mist wet thing dosen't get everything wet.
Now need one for the parents room!

Well bad news.
The dry mouth and the sniffles in the morning from the hubby is still not gone.
Got the cool mist humidifier and it helped for me, but not the hubby, he got "worse".
Had the humidifier that just blows the air and no mist, and that was no good too!
I don't know what to do - HELP! I can't sip water all night you pee too much!
