My friend (the one who introduced me to Imamother.com, but can't log on any more) needs some help. | Quote: | Also, if you have a chance to post on Imamother about side by side double strollers, especially ones that will fit easily in a Toyota Camry.
I was looking at a Zooper, if anyone knows anything about it. |
She does not want a McClaren (sp?). She does one want one that will have each seat go back, and would like one bar across the top so she can push it with one hand. Anna also said she wants it to fold small enough to fit into her trunk. (No, they are not getting a minivan yet, although this is baby number 3, IY"H.) I have never heard of a zooper. Has anyone here used one? Does anyone have a recommendation for Anna?

| the combi folds very small from the looks of it. they have instructional videos on their web site. I have heard their strollers are a little on the junkier side, but I don't know what her needs are in terms of stroller use, so it may be good for her. I've only heard they're junky from one source, and have seen a few in person but only in passing. so I'm not an authority on them. they have a "tri-fold" and come with a carrying strap.

| the combi does fold small, to the size of a golf bag. and it has one bar on top. however if you're walking outside with it, no way can you push it with one hand. I can bareley do so in the mall let alone anywhere else. aside from joggers, I don't know any stroller that can easily be pushed with one hand unless you're friend is very strong!

I also have the Double Combi. It folds in half, and then in half again. (A Quarter???)
I have to agree, it's not the sturdiest stroller. Not too long after we purchased it, the bar in front of one of the sides cracked.
But, OTOH, it's very lightweight and fits nicely in the car. _________________ Boy (15), Boy (13), Girl (12), Boy (10), Girl (8), Boy (5), Girl (3), Girl (10 m) B"H!!!

I have the mamas and papas/peg perego twin aria. It is not perfect, a little flimsy, but it folds up nice and small. It fits on the car floor in front of one of the kids seats in our minivan.
google for pictures and reveiws.

My SIL has the Peg Twin Aria as well. It doesn't fold side to side compactly, but it folds flat. In terms of car space, she has a little Volkswagen Golf (tiny little hatchback), and she can get it in her trunk (although not much else will fit afterwards!), so for sure it would fit in the trunk of a Camry, with some room to spare. _________________ Emmanuel Tzvi: 26 Shevat 5766

I have the peg aria, and second that it's hard to push, it's all in all a horrible stroller. _________________ Rivky- 5 yrs , Shmuly-4 yrs, Tzemach 2 yrs, Mirel- newborn

the graco side by side folds almost flat. I had no problem fitting it into my ford focus, It had the one bar across, and can be pushed one handed if necessary. And the huge basket underneath is a mommy's dream.
Drawbacks--Seat has too positions, totally flat. or straight up. great for a newborn/older infant (10-11 months) not so great for that 4-8 month stage.

The Combi Twin Savvy has all these features.
The Aria only folds flat, but not any smaller.
The Zooper Tango is very heavy and also doesn't fold as compactly.
There aren't too many options out there right now _________________ http://a-natural-birth.com

Ladies, Ladies, I promise you I discovered the best tendem stroller there is. I don't remember the exact name of the style but it is the Eddie Bauer tandem light weight, front and back. What are the pluses you ask? It is about the same size as a single stroller and folds up much like an umbrella stroller. You can carry it with one hand by the handle and it easily fits in the trunk of your car. You can easily push it as it's very maneuveral and it glides easily in very tight corners. I also find it to be very sturdy. The only draw backs somebody may not like (you have to compromise some where if you want compactness) are the front seat doesn't have a canopy or adjust, which may be ok for an older child. The rear seat does recline but not totaly flat. Which is ok, even for a new born if you just wrap him up in loose blankets and maybe use a soft pillow.
Also this doesn't bother me that it doesn't have a big catch all basket underneath. It just has a hanging zippered pouch underneath big enough for two changes of out fit, 4 diapers, a travel pack wipes, maybe a pair of shoes, and a small toy or two. If you really need to take a bag with you, no problem, you can just hang it on the back of the strollers comfy adjustable handles. I know this sounds like a sales pitch, but I examined this thing for thirty minutes before I bought it and have no complaints. Best of all it was on clearance at Target for 97.00 dollars. I think they have the new fabric pattern and it now it may be 120.00. Take my word for it. You will love it. I bought one for my friend and she also loves it as much as me.
P.S. You could even push three kids in this stroller (two in the back) not buckled in. If they were good and will sit together. We've done it many times If it was a really late Yom Tov or very hot shabbos and my little one didn't want to walk home. (we have an eruv).
Hope this helps any one looking for a good product.

| The Aria is HELL to push. I borrowed it from a friend and usedit for 2 kids who weren't even so big or heavy and probably ended up working out my biceps more than anything else! It doesn't maneuver easily, nor does it turn corners easily either and afer 10 minutes I was totally out of breath... and I'm not such a skinny weak person either, so I definitely wouldn't buy it for myself.

P.S.
My friend that I bought one for also used to own the Aria not only did she not care for it, but not long after she owned it the closing mechanism broke and she no longer could close it. Besides I think it was over 200.00 dollars!
p.p.s.
To the OP I can't imagine a stroller for two kids that is side by side and going to be easy to push with one hand. Believe me when I tell you the eddie Bauer is very easy.

| How can you push the Safety 1st/Eddie Bauer Transit Tandem with one hand if has 2 handles? BTW, I didn't find it to push too well on bumps and it was heavier than my Combi which I just lift up.

| I didn't mean that it was easy to push with one hand. I just meant that it was easy to push. What I don't like about the combi is that when it is side by side it can be to wide and bulky to go through doorways and side walks. If you like the idea of a front and back but most of them just seem like big tanks then the Eddie Bauer is the way to go.
