when babies sleep too long at atime like that they may be dehydrated. that happened to my son when he was just a few days old, he was dehydrated. _________________ Dovid Shlomo- 8/31/03

Keep waking him up. Feed him on the clock, or more often, at least every 3 hours.
Dehydrated or very hungry. Are you nursing? Do you have enough milk? If he's sleeping that much he may not be demanding too much.
Is he overdressed? Too warm?
If it doesn't change in a day or so, take him to the Dr. _________________ Mom to 7+3+8, [33 to 21], two SILs and one DIL & 3 cute gd's and 5 handsome gs's. And a greatl DH. BARUCH HASHEM

| sometimes they just need to sleep to grow. I remember my oldest slept the night at 6 weeks - 12 hours - I was so worried she was dehydrated etc, but really she was just older and could go longer at night without nursing.

I had that with my premie. I just woke him up every 3 hrs no matter what. except for at night I let him sleep 4 hrs. I had to feed him to make him grow and get stronger.
I dont think that u should let him sleep as long as he wants at that age.!!!
