Hi, I'm looking for an easy dessert I can serve Friday night that is:

a) relatively easy to make - I don't mind a lot of steps, but nothing with a candy thermometer or anything that if I leave it for a second too long, it will get ruined

b) gorgeous and appealing to look at - a feast for the eyes

c) delicious

Anyone have any suggestions?!?!

TIA

A trifle always looks pretty and is good for a crowd.
Or a Napolean. I freeze a trayful but when you cut it and place on a plate you see the pretty layers.

If either sounds right for you, I could write up the recipe.

I make pomegranate bark.

melt any decent pareve chocolate, mix in a handful of pomegranate arils, spread on parchment paper lined cookie sheet, sprinkle with enough pomegranate arils to cover and press gently into the chocolate. freeze for 10 min to harden, break into small pieces, store in fridge.

Sounds nice. How thick do you make the chocolate?

Noooooo! Not low calorie. The richer the better.

Napoleons sound okay. Can I get the recipe?

Pavlova is delicious and looks gorgeous with only the tiniest bit of effort. If you buy store bought fruit it's even quicker. Buy a bunch of different fruits, even canned if you want, and arrange in concentric circles or lines. If you're not artistic (although you don't have to be) you can make a strawberry compote, and pour it on top, in place of seasonal fruits, it still looks gorgeous.

2 packages instant vanilla pudding
Graham crackers/Petit Beurre cookies

Mix coffee rich with pudding. Whip the Rich's whip and fold into pudding.
Grease 9x13.
Layer with crackers. Pour in 1/2 mixture.
