Not Tehilla (although I'm told it's a yiddish form). Can anyone tell me anything else about the name? How it's spelled?

Tes Yud Lamed Alef.
It is often paired with Chava. Chava Tilla.
I never heard that it's from Tehilla. I was told it's a Polish name that became Yiddish like many other Polish and Hungarian names (think Charna, Basha, Brana, Aigy).

I love it, but it might remind people of "Atilla the Hun."

I do wonder if Tilla isn't from Tehilla.
My Krakow family has this name.

We have this name in our family and I always knew it to be a short version of Tehilla.

Tehilla is not a word that has a mesora as a name. It is not a name in the Torah. Tilla is Yiddish. It's spelled with a tes, not even a tuf like Tehilla. There is a name book which has the mesoros of different names: Yiddish and Lashon Kodesh. You can look up Tilla there, but I am certain you will not find the name Tehilla in the book, although we know that it means praise.

Beider says it's folk etymology that links Tilla to Tehila
