So for R"H we have already applesauce cake, honey cake and brownies--and someone is bringing another applesauce cake for Shabbos lunch (same recipe). Need some recommendations for another dessert that's easy and not too redundant good for R"H. Was thinking of making an apple pie, but is that too redundant?

At the risk of sounding repetitive (this is also an apple dessert) I see this posted on Facebook lately. I haven't tried it yet, but they look so lovely. I suppose you would substitute the butter with either margarine or oil to make it pareve.

Yea. I saw this idea in the yated. Looks really intriguing, but not for this year. I have a cold today and have work like crazy until y"t, so not happening.

Chocolatetown Pie (adapted from a Hershey Cookbook)
9" unbaked pastry shell (I use a graham cracker pie crust, which is already baked)
1/2 cup butter or margarine softened ( I use oil instead)
2 eggs beaten
2 tsp. vanilla or 2 Tbsp. bourbon
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup all purpose flour (I use whole grain flour instead for a healthier treat)
1 cup hersheys semi-sweet choc. chips
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
Prepare pastryshell, set aside. (If you use a graham cracker crust, you do not need to pre-bake it).
Heat oven to 350* Cream butter, eggs and vanilla in mixer bowl. Combine sugar and flour, add to creamed mixture. Stir in choc. chips and nuts. Pour into unbaked pastry shell. Bake 45-50 mins. or till golden. Cool about 1 hour; serve warm, with whipped cream if desired.
