Green beans. Slice a couple of onions, roast in oven on a cookies sheet with a little oil. Add cut up mushrooms, red peppers if you like 'em. Roast a little longer.
Add green beans last & just til crunchy or how done you like them. Now you can transfer to a small pan and either put into oven last minute or on top of stove. Better just warm than overdone.

What abt onion kieshe, super easy, super yummy.
Sautee abt 5 onions (size and pan dependant) in slices till they are transparent
Mix one to two eggs in onions
Put in pie crust, bake at 350 for abt hour

Something that adds a lot of color would be a purple cabbage slaw. Shred cabbage, add a shredded carrot and slice half an onion very thin. I like to add dried cranberries. Simple dressing is olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper. Enjoy!

Love all these ideas- we are having butternit squah and apple craqnberry crisp for shabbos lunch-otherwise those would have been my go to ideas.. love the salad idea too- I think I may end up with too much food!

you will end up with left overs - that happens when you have guests .... you'll eat it during the week!
I would do lukshen kugel or carrot muffins
there's always traditional potato kugel for fri. night
