I purchased these shoes for my children for a wedding. Is it a summer shoe due to the color, or winter shoe due to the velvet? In other words, after the wedding, can they wear it as a winter dress shoe, or should we save it for next summer?

This shoe can definitely be worn in the winter (since the color is more of a darker shade). I'm not too keen of suede in the summer. But then again it's a matter of preference.

Definitely can wear it for winter. And highly unlikely they will still be the same size come summer, so makes sense to get whatever wear out of them you can.

Yes, but the color is so summer-y. That's why I think it works as a year-round shoe.

Winter shoe. I can even imagine it with a white wool dress or a thick lace tan. That being said, you could get away with wearing it in the summer because of the color.
