Congested baby...HELP!

My baby (5 months) is really congested. Sad

I think it's even effecting eating and sleeping. I tried using my milk but it doesnt seem to help too much. do you know of any safe medicine/nose drops? Thanks!

Turn on the hot shower and sit in bathroom with him while it clears out his congestion.

any pharmacy should have saline drops for infants.
or there's cold medicine, ask your doctor for a recommendation/ prescription.

You should have a humidifier in your baby's room all winter. It should definitely help him sleep better during a cold.

The best thing?
Go to any health food store or even shoprite and ask for Flax seed meal!
Put 2 full tablespoons in a cup.add boiling water.(wait 5 minutes.let it cool.and then give the baby the liquid part only1
I mean the falx seed will remain at the buttom of the cup cause it is heavy-the water on top is for ur baby to drink.
Within few hours ur baby will be a new one!
Safe even for newborns.

I agree about sitting in the bathroom with the shower running hot water.

Try also a wet towel on a hot radiator in the bedroom at night. Also, raise the head of the crib a little; this aids with breathing.

Errrrr......... I guess it depends what your radiators are made from??!!??

Maybe I don't know enough about the heating systems you have. Here in England we have hot water piped from a central boiler in the house, through to metal radiators in each room. I always hang wet washing on the radiators, it's not a problem at all.

Saline helps but it trains the nose and windpipe not to function and secrete on its own and eventually it backfires so use sparingly. I wrote about a miracle that I use on my kids who used to get croup a few times a year and heavy green stuff yuck. It�s pantothenic acid. Search for my thread. Good luck!

I also used saline drops and that bulb to suck the stuff out. They hate the sucking out, but they are much happier when they have less congestion.

I also think humidifiers are good ideas, but my ds's pediatrician doesn't like the risk of mold growth as a result of frequent use, so I didn't end up using one with him, but there are different shitas on that so ask your dr.

Taking in the bathroom for ~20 min to sit in the steam is also effective.
