25TH Anniversary of the Fire!! Who By Fire

Dear Family and Friends,

Tonite will be Vav Kislev, the 6th of Kislev, the 25th Anniversary of the Fire! If you are not familiar with my story, portrayed in the book "Who By Fire", I was 85% burnt and miraculously survived. I had the merit to bring 7 more children into this world, after the three that G-d enabled me to save from the burning apartment in the Old City.

The Chaya Malka Burn Foundation was started 3 1/2 years ago to council and benefit burn victims and their families.

During Sukkos, 2005, a father suffered smoke inhilation trying to rescue his 2 sons from their kitchen fire. The youngest son, 1 1/2 yr.old a"h passed away.The father called
me last week concerning the 2nd son, a burn victim ( 5 1/2 years old) suffering 40% burns. (there are 4 more children at home) He has turned to the foundation for financial assistance to help cover the cost of 2 "Jobst " suits.( the multiple, custom elastic bodysuit necessary to flaten scars and to prevent new scars from forming)
Each suit cost $1800. This is a tremendous burden on the family, as the health insurance contributes at most $800 a year, which is well exhausted on suits purchased at the beginning of 2006. 2 suits are interchanged daily and remeasured when the child grows or the swelling of the burn subsides.This process can take from 2 -5 years.

In honor of 25 years of recovery, and the miracles of the fire, please join me, with Praise and Thanks to the Almighty, in being a partner in this urgent mitzvah.

So this is YOU?!!! Tha's amazing. I read that book like a hundred times!! It is so nice to take such a big nisayon and grow from it rather than to take it as a punishment etc... or any other negative way. You take that nisayon and reach out to help others... I have no words. May Hashem repay you in kindness...

Chas Veshalom that I should have gone through something like that. Firstly I was born a month before the fire happened. This woman is a friend of the family. She is one amazing person.

I changed it since I did get it in an email.
