| |
I need to purchase a very specialized piece of craft equipment but I'm pretty clueless about where to get it and what type. Surely there must be some forum for serious crafters but that's not usually my department (I'm buying it for DH, who is not an internet person) so I have no idea where to find them!
TIA!

What type of craft? You can try gardenweb (ths.gardenweb.com) _________________ Never mistake activity for achievement.

Ravelry is good for serious knitters/crocheters/spinners (as well as those who are just having fun) but I suspect that's not the craft in question. Wanna tell us what it is? _________________ http://crunchyandkosher.blogspot.com/

| DH needs some equipment for tefillin battim repair. Not sure what the equivalent craft would be out in the wider world but surely there are other crafters who use the same tools for other things, fine carpentry art maybe?!

it's not a question of leatherwork? what is the name of the tool or item in question? maybe if you search for something like "fsdfmachine recommendations" or "what's the best brand of retwswremachine" you'll find some sources of info. or maybe if you find the website of a person who makes tefillin, you can contact him directly to ask for ideas.
