Ebay vs. Amazon

I'm thinking of opening an online store. At this point I can only do one of the above mentioned.
What are the pros and cons of each?
Which would you recommend?
Any tips or helpful advice?

I've only been an affiliate of ebay and amazon; I've never opened my own store on either platform. That said, I've worked with a lot of people who have done so.

I don't know the difference in fees and all that, which is something you should research.

However, the main thing that you want to think about is TRAFFIC. I always say that starting a website is like opening a store in Antarctica. It may be beautiful, user-friendly, and have great deals, but if there are no customers, then you're out of business.

I think it depends what you're selling...... lots of stuff goes better on ebay than amazon but when I was selling off a bunch of used books, amazon worked well for me because amazon is where people go to look for specific books.
