community was miniscule.
Sweden was cold and lonely... but with a deep, yiddishe soul.
lots of holy light in a place of heavy darkness.
it was definitely a life-changing experience...
and makes me appreciate what I have here in "normal" jewish communities.

There were at the time... but now it is just the Chabad Shluchim.
(people left)

There is a very STRONG reform movement.
99.9% assimilation rate...
I was present at the FIRST ORTHODOX, Chassidic wedding in Gothenberg history...
pretty amazing experience.

By the way- all of the above places I visited by age 21.

My dream is to go to Australia... Italy and Switzerland.
And to visit my beloved friends in California. 8)

Do we count airport stopovers? How about countries you drove through on the way to somewhere else?

Countries I have spent more than a couple of hours in:

Israel
Canada
Mexico
Belgium
Switzerland
Russia
Ukraine
England

Countries I have driven through on the way to somewhere else, or have visited for a couple of hours:

Germany
France
Holland
Luxembourg

Countries whose airports have had the honor of hosting me:

Finland
Denmark
Poland

States of the Union I have visited:
New Jersey
Connecticut
Massachussetts
Maryland
Florida
Illinois
Pennsylvania
Washington
Oregon
California

I always thought I was relatively well travelled, but I see I haven't been to half as many places as most other contributors to this thread. How humbling.

I've lived in the US mostly (seen almost all 50!), but have also lived in Canada, Mexico, and Korea.

I've traveled to and stayed briefly in the UK, Japan, Hong Kong, mainland China, Thailand, Singapore, India, and Israel.

Went on a day trip to Petra while in Israel.
