| |
my baby has finally graduated from formula to milk and I have many unopened cans of enfamil formula to give away. I live in brooklyn but the only gemach I know of actually requires 'customers' to PAY for what they are selling (makes me really angry as I dont think a gemach should be charging needy people for items- they are going to a gemach because they cant AFFORD to pay!!) so I refuse to bring them there. does anyone know of a place where I can drop them off and know they are going to someone in need for absolutely no cost whatsoever? I will drop them off anywhere in brooklyn- it would really make me happy to know someone who really needs it will be getting it at no charge.
thanks!

hey, I dont live in brroklyn so I cant tell you for sure. but if you know any family that had ababy recently ask them if they need it, we just gave our similac to our neighbor who had twins and they were overjoyed !

| There is a gemach @1426 45th St. In BP. You really just go in and drop it behind the door.

| There's also a Flatbush Gmach @ 1327 East 26 Street where you leave the formula on the back deck.

| The BP g'mach I agree is a wonderful chessed resource. They give formula to those who ask at no charge. You can usually drop off right inside front door but here is the name/number/address: Mrs. Steinberg 718 972 2142, 1426 45th Street. Tizke L'Mitzvos.

I don't know if this is something you'd want to do or you specifically want to donate it, but there are businesses that buy formula from people who have extra. Not for too much money but if you have a bunch of cans it adds up.
There are ads for them in the torah times often.
