My ds (22 months BH) seems to be allergic to wheat and definitely has typical reactions to sugar which throw us all off schedule and sanity.

Pleaseee help me with toddler and preschooler (3 1/2 dd) friendly foods that I can switch over to! Thanks!!
My son loooooves pasta, bread, crackers, cookies, cakes, candies, juice
Thankfully he likes water as well. He's a very picky eater.

TIA! :/

Hi,

I was allergic to wheat too until I got corrected by a kenisiologist but am still only allowed 3 portions a day so am quite restricted too. I have found that Spelt agrees wonderfully with me which is brilliant as one can get spelt pasta, spelt bread (in some bakeries or you can bake it yourself) and crackers (shibolim). Spelt tastes just as good as wheat, if not better! I also have a lot of rice and potatoes. There are also a lot of gluten free products out there at the moment. I'm not sure what you can do about the cakes and cookies without sugar, besides to make them yourself with spelt flour with honey or maple syrup, if he can handle that. I can give you some recipes if you would like.
Hatzlacha Raba with it all!

Spelt is pretty controversial, I think. One of my children was not able to tolerate spelt when s/he was allergic (B'H outgrown). Another child is now off wheat, but s/he is B'H able to have spelt. It really depends on each individual person.
