I have all three kids home with me this summer (ages 4.5, 3, 1.5) and need some more ideas what we can do. They love going to parks, but it's a little too hot. So does anyone have any ideas on what we can do? I live in Monsey, so if anyone knows things to do around here also would be so helpful. Thanx!

bubble art is a big hit with my kids ... just add paint to bubble mix and blow on paper.
making no bake cookies or edible play dough
Painting rocks and adding google eyes
sidewalk chalk .
drawing ,painting , collage with found objects
making a mini garden we are growing mint, chives , strawberries.
cellophane stained glass on any window.
make a long yarn braid attach to cardboard or wood for a cute hair clip organizer.
waterplay I bought a water table at a garage sale for next to nothing , girls love it.
paper twin , make a outline of each child using craft paper have them decorate it in the childs likeness stuff with newspaper , staple the sides .
teddy bear or dolly picnic featuring mini sandwiches , cookies etc.

clay hand prints.

check online if there are any parks with sprinklers near you. they make a great outing for a few hous it mifgt even be worth driving 40 minutes and pack a picnic lunch.
do you have wading pool or sprinkler?
wash the car with hose, sponge, soap, buckets of water-they can wear their bathing suits.

I'm home with 4 kiddos, the oldest of whom is 8.

We're having a fairly laid back summer, but we still have a general schedule to keep things moving. It includes 1-2 outings a week, a craft or activity the other days, and free time in the afternoon most days. I go for baking sometimes, too. I like to give my kids room to do their own thing every day, so that's where our afternoons go - although if someone is having a hard time playing nicely with others, I can always give them a job or activity.

There are tons of good websites with good kid craft ideas. Try:

creativejewishmom
theimaginationtree

My site has some craft ideas, too: OrganizedJewishHome

You can also look at magazines, like Family Fun.

Have fun!

shmaichul, thank you so much for your blog, you're my role model!
Ive been writing down the crafts ideas for next time my son gets bored after day camp.
What are your girls holding to make the bubbles? Reg store bought wands or something you had at home?
