Gown help!! Please!!!

Hey does anyone know of gown rentals (not more then 250) or gown gemach in brooklyn!!! I am desperate!!!!!
The wedding is end of AUG....I found something but it is 500 for a rental for one night....is that really what gowns go for???? its for my bil wedding.....

Like everything else, there is a range, but you should be able to find a rental for $250. Did you try Augenbrauns on Coney Island Ave. How about posting your size and color, maybe another imamother has something they can lend/rent to you.

Bridal direct on coney Island has for cheaper than that and they sometimes have outlet stuff too.

THere is a few gemachs in BP, look in the back of the hamodia - the gemach list, should help you out a little bit.

what about the tzinus princess in flatbush?
my cousins whole family got their gowns there, they were stunning.

it's really hard to find for under $250,
unfortuantely $500 is more like it

augenbraum is $295 + alterations for a gown that was worn before, but unless it fits perfectly alterations add up

bridal direct has 3 levels, I think $375, $450 and 5something, but each is + $75 for alterations

the only cheaper option is a gmach, but depending what size you are, alot of gmachs only have small sizes, and you can't do alterations, if you're not a perfect size

buying may be better for you, there's a david's bridal in flatbush, ppl. find there or else in department stores

My sister just rented for $100 from a place in Flatbush there is also a place in Boro Park which is supposed to be cheapand good too but she didn't get that because they were closed but they will be open again next week. I will get the details from her and post them later on tonight.

Lord and Taylor has some beautiful modest gowns on a very good sale under 150.

Thanks everyone! so I am a size 14...the color is slate but I could wear navy, gray, sliver, black(would rather not wear black) I tried bridal direct didnt have much in my size and augenbraum had one thing and it was 395 plus 150 for alterations

Ok so apparently the one she went to is closed for August but they may be open for a little bit still so call now! Its called Simchas Chinka/Muss their number is: 718-377-3874

The other one is Berkowitz which seems to get great reviews but were closed this week when she was in Brooklyn on the gown search as they were in the mountains but should be back next week is what they said she left a message on their machine and they got back to her that evening. Their number is 718-645-4700.

There is a fantastic consignment store on 11th Ave and 54th. I think they are called Elegant Reflections. They advertise in Esra. You can buy used gowns for reasonable prices, or most things can be rented. They have very nice dresses. I couldn't find anything for my sister's wedding, and then I went there and immediately tried on three gowns that were all good options.
