I looked on the Amazon site and other answering sites but I'm still not so clear how to go about selling something or if I even could.

Few questions:
- Do people just sell one thing, or do you have to have a lot of items to sell? I have just this one thing.
-
- Is it worth it to sell and ship if it's a big bulky item? How do I know how much shipping is going to cost me? Should I take it to the post office first to see what they say?

- Also, I'm confused about shipping. Say I get a buyer. He pays a shipping cost- is it to me? or does amazon get it? If it cost me a lot to ship, I suffer the losses? I guess I should take it into account when setting the price? Not so clear how it goes.

Thanks! And any other info you have would be great!

you can sell one item or more. If you are just selling one thing here and there, then you pay to ship your item to the person. The only thing Amazon did is hook you up with the buyer and arrange the payment transaction.

If you are selling many items, you can either sell through an amazon sellers account or a webstore, hosted by amazon. Both have different rules. Generally, you would ship all of your many, many items to Amazon's warehouses and then they will ship it to your buyer when the order comes in. This is called "fulfilled by amazon." It is complicated but from what I understand you end up paying about 3.00 in shipping for each item ( more depending on how it weighs) and gift wrapping is free.

Thank you!
So it might not be worth it to sell this item if it's big and bulky. I won't make too much if most will go toward the shipping.

Ok another q-
The item is totally new and unused, and it still has a tag with the company name on it.
But I don't have the box it came in or instructions/papers of any sort. Can I label it as new?

Why don't you try eBay? You can charge whatever you want to ship. Also you can be more clear about the condition of the item and what is included.

If its too bulky to ship try selling it on Craigslist, that way the person will come pick it up

Yup. Or you can sell on eBay as pickup only- that's how I got my stroller.

You can do either or, there are 2 seller options.
If it's a big item do NOT sell it on amazon. I would try craigslist.
You get the shipping costs but amazon does take a commission which IME is about the same price as the estimated shipping costs.

If you have any further questions about selling on Amazon feel free to pm me.
