another thing that's nice about a small school is that its harder to get lost in the crowd. everyone has to take part in events and performances and so on; you don't just have a few student council girls who run everything, and dozens of girls disappearing into the chorus; everyone really did have an opportunity to take charge of something and participate in ways that would have been impossible with a larger pool of participants.
I agree. In my small school, EVERYONE participated in making the 8th grade yearbook, for example. When there was a class play, EVERYONE had an important part. Sometimes it could be a bit of a pain if you feel like that's not your cup of tea, but overall it's a great learning experience and a chance to try out different types of activities even if you're not a natural.

I was in a smallish school. (average 20 girls per year) If you are lucky you will find like minded people to be friends with, however I never made any really good friends in my class. (ie best friends) No one was quite on my wavelength. My sister who is similar to me had one or two good friends who were very different in some ways, but she connected with them. I am however still pretty close with all my classmates. (when I see them Smile ) especially the ones who were with me from kindergarten to the end. (about 12 girls)

However I don't think some of the problems you have in a big school will happen in a small school. The teachers knew us all well.

I did suffer from mediocre teaching in some subjects - some small schools are not well funded.
