no, because it is thin and you are sliding the knife down not jabbing it in and out.

I made a similar cake to the ones in these pictures. I made a round 2 layer chocolate cake and draped fondant tzitzis over it. I also made a fondant yarmulka and piped the name on it with chocolate frosting.
