Hello.
Has anyone ever heard of the minhag of lighting an extra shabbos candle for a loved one who has passed on?
Someone recently mentioned it to me, as my great-uncle was just niftar, w/o his own children, and suggested I light an extra shabbos candle to remember him.
I thought that was so strange, b/c I only know abt lighting for a new child and if you forgot to light ch"v. Has anyone out there heard of this?

I have heard of keeping a candle lit at all times day and night in the first year but not this.
Ask your rav?
