I am planning a honeymoon in the near future and debating which airline between Delta and ElAl. ElAl is more expensive though.

Experienced travelers- I'd love to hear your comments.

Thanks

Continental/United.

Or go with a stopover with one of the better European airlines I.e. swiss, lufthansa etc.

DELTA is terrible, ELAL is not great but definitely better than delta.

I've had terrible experiences with United/Continental, generally good with Delta.

We fly a ton,

Delta out of Atlanta is great, but not out of NY.

Personally though I'll take almost anything (except a 3rd world airline) over El Al.

We've always had major problems with El Al. Once (connecting to El Al in Spain from a US carrier) they made us unpack all 6 of our bags (we were 3 people a number of years ago) on the tarmac to make sure no one had put anything in since they'd left us!

Another time they wouldn't give DH his boarding pass for the 2nd leg when we started out, so in a European airport (I think was Madrid), we actually had to leave the whole secure area, come back to check in to get it, and then go through security again.

And El Al has the smallest seats.

Are you looking for a direct flight only? I like European airlines better in general. I had a good experience on British last time we flew to Israel.

I wanted to avoid the landing and departing twice....but maybe if it's better I should consider it and make a stop for two days in switzerland?

If it's your honeymoon, I would definitely recommend that! Switzerland, France, England- they're all great choices. You can just add it onto your trip.

I'm thinking of stopping in Prague for two days on the way home. Iwas thinking maybe to do Israel for ten days and do another two days in Prague?

Which airline would you recommend? Thinking of going to Israel from Tuesday for ten days till a Sunday and then go to Prague till Tuesday.

Please comment.

I hate El-Al: the stewardess are rude and there are tons of noisy children

Prague is an AMAZING city! Its the perfect place to go for a couple of days with your hubby!!!

OK - I can get a very good rate if I travel Delta via Prague - was thinking of doing Prague on the way home but it comes out much cheaper if we do it this way. I was able to get a hotel in Prague for one night for a very low rate so it works out cheap.

Any ideas on what to do in Prague and if Delta is not good what other airline would you recommend for such a trip. I hope it's not too tiring doing Prague and then on to Israel.

my husband just had a terrible experience with delta. First, they claimed he had no ticket (for the return flight!!) Then after finally letting him on the flight, (which was delayed) they lost his luggage for 3 days. On a direct flight. If you do choose them make sure to pack some essentials in your hand luggage. (ok, this can happen with any airline, but 3 days????)

Having said that I always choose the cheapest ticket.
