| dh and I are considering a move back to the uk (I am english and my DS is eligible too); has anyone moved recently? we were looking last night but it says you need to prove income of at least 20,000GBP as of july 2012 otherwise your application wil be denied.. we were going to move and look for jobs once we were back (want to be near my family again) but now that wont be an option apparently?????????? any advice from someone who has btdt?

| It's a new rule. I don't know how they will apply it for families where both spouses are coming from abroad. You might want to go to one of the more general expat forums. And, YOU will need a job, apparently; only the sponsor's income can be counted.

Does your husband happen to have a grandparent who can trace British lineage/citizenship? Often is the case if DH has other Commonwealth country citizenship.
Can he qualify for work visa on his own merit--I think Home Office has some point system, like x points for college degree, y points for post-graduate degree; x points if he had worked A numbers of years at GBPy salary etc.
I'm not really sure how the new income-rule works. Do you have other immediate family members who can be a guarantee?

Actually thats not correct. It says the joint income of a couple will be taken into account when assessing the adequacy of the funds available.

There is a guy in Stamford Hill who deals with these kind of questions, I think he charges for his time.
He is very helpful to the Jewish community, unfortunately I cannot remember his name!

Mr Posen??????
Last I knew Mr Posen works for Aguda and answers questions without charge. If you need more time, like to fill out application forms then he works from home and charges per hour.
