Any ideas of things to do for in/around Niagara Falls. Where have you stayed? Going on a 3 day trip without the kids and want to do something different, exciting, romantic and fun. Thanks.

that is a gr8 choice. I was there recently with dh and it was smashing. there are loads of hotels all around the falls (look online for best deals) we took a fallsview room. with a big jacuzzi. and a huuuge bed. that alone was romantic. doing fun stuff in your room while having a view of the falls.

there are loads of attractions at niagara falls. every hotel lobby will be filled with brochures and pamphlets. if you want to plan ahead look online. and then you can ask amothers for who was where and what was their experience. im so excited for you. its a gr8 vacation.

Are you driving? If yes you can plan your trip around Letchworth State Park and Watkins Glen. Both are gorgeous, and are a great place to stop for a scenic hike/walk and picnic along the way.

we were there for 5 days last summer, over shabbos, it was amazing
you gotta do the whirlpool jetboat tour, very thrilling, you get drenched
there's a nice ferris wheel where you could see the falls and just walking by the falls is amazing, I could've stood there for hours
there's tons of things to do and even night life, so we really took it easy, went out, did something, came back to hotel, ate lunch/supper, depending on time, and went out again later,
it was a great trip, we had our 8 yr. old dd with us, but she was able to do all the stuff we wanted to do, so it was fine

Those are good choices but you really should go to ausable chasm too, we've been a couple of times and loved it, there's rafting there too.

It is called by some, the "Grand Canyon of the East.

Make sure to take a fallsview room, the embassy suites had great views and whirlpool baths.
Enjoy!

ausable chasm is on the way to Montreal. I don't think you pass it on the way to Niagra. but I have to say it is a must see, with a ride down the canyon.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions! Especially what do do on the long drive up! I was wondering about that. We hope to drive at night, find a place to sleep on the way, then drive more in the morning. Coming from NY.

cave of the winds is an amazing attraction on the american side. we did maid of the mist on the canadian side then cave of the winds on the american afterwards. very cool to see it from the top. very fun getting to practically touch the falls. it was our favorite part. it also makes you go through a stunning park with amazing views! make sure to bring clothing that you know can get all wet, and ziplock bags to slide your camera in so it doesnt get wet. also bring more food than you think. enjoy!

we went for 2.5 days w/o kids - I would recommend flying instead- it saves a lot of time!
Then we rented a car to get around.
It was really nice.

Buffalo has a frum community with a young israel (and a supermarket with kosher food).

http://yibuffalo.org/ has a lot of information - both about buffalo and general touring in the Niagara area.

Maids of the Mist (boat ride) you can do with young children. Caves of the wind I wouldn't.

for shabbas check out chabad http://www.jewishniagara.com/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/404043/jewish/Shabbat.htm
or travel to Toronto.
