Planning a vacation to the poconos- just cuz its not too far from ny and seems pretty nice. has anyone ever stayed in hotels other than the ceasers- cove heavan?

also I was trying to find out if there is a jewish community nearby.

I've recently been to AC and LOOOOOVED it! cheap beautiful hotels and jewish community with great restaurants really closeby. Plus its only like two hours from NY.
So you get what Im looking for- not neccearily the Poconos but somehting pretty for the summer.

All suggestions welcome

there is a Chabad house in the Poconos if that helps....

there's no restaurants in the area, so if you're looking for a vacation with no cooking, this ain't it. If you're looking for relaxing and hiking - it's totally worth it!

My dh and I are IY"H taking a mini vacation to AC (without kids Smile ) overnight, but are doing it on a weekend when it's waayy less busy. We picked AC because I want to be able to have a quiet dinner and not worry about any food, including lunch (there's a new falafel place that opened supposedly and I know about the nice restaurant ).

It would definitely prefer Poconos to AC. Just a matter of opinion and what you like to do though. Hershey is a lot of fun. If you don't keep chalav Yisrael, the park is great - - so much yummy chocolate and even kosher food stand. Enjoy your vaca!
