| Yup, North or South Carolina would be great. Are you looking for places that have a Jewish community? Minyanim?

| I would go to South Carolina. North would give you too much for day #2. Are you looking for sites or just a convenient place to sleep? There are many clean motels to stop in for one night. You are bringing your own food for the 2 days or do you need to buy?

Just did the drive Pesach!
We drove all the way until Savannah, Georgia, which was a 12 hour stretch with about 4 stops along the way.
We stayed at the Super 8 hotel on Canebrake Rd, right off the I-95! Just look up on Super 8's website the one on 387 Canebrake Rd, Savannah, GA.
The next morning we continued to Hollywood, FL (about 20 min further than Miami Beach), and that took about 6 and a half hours.

| Thank u Cindy. This is just what I needed. We were thinking of driving to Savannah but we were scared it was too far. Can I ask you what day of the week it took you 12 hours was it a Sunday or a weekday

We left on a Tuesday morning at 6 AM, made about four, 10-15 min stops, and by about 6:30 we were in Savannah.
The hotel was really nice for a Super 8, brand new and very clean, comfy beds and it was only about $65 for the night.
It was our first time driving to FL, and it really was not as bad as we thought it would be!

When I was younger we did the drive almost every year. My parents were AAA members and would go to the AAA office and get a book for each state we were passing through. Then we'd drive as long as we could. When it was getting too late to drive, they'd flip through the book and find a cheap hotel. My mom would make a reservation from the car and we'd be there in no time.
I think they based the city on the signs on the highway... for example if City X was 60 miles away, they knew we'd be close to that city in an hour and would look for hotels in City X. I suppose all this would be easier now that everyone has a smartphone. _________________ You only have 1Life2Live, so make it count!

| If you tell us how may hours you want to drive and how many times you estimate you'll need potty breaks, I can make suggestions. Things to consider: would you feel safer in a hotel than in a motel (1 central entrance to building)? If you're traveling with kids, will they be OK with all-day drives? Savannah is a LOT more than half way there and according to Mapquest, it's a 21-hour drive from NY to Miami,

Mapquest is totally inaccurate. NY to Miami even with a few stops is not more than 18-19 hrs. Non-stop, you can do it in 16 hrs.
When we got into our car that morning and put Savannah, GA into our navigation, driving time came up as 12 hr 15 min, when we put that into Mapquest it came up as 13 hrs 30 min.
I think its a great idea to get the biggest chunk of the drive over with the first day when ur still fresh so to speak.

Yes! Thats what I did. The last thing you want to do after 12 hrs of driving is to start looking for a place to sleep, especially if you have cranky kids on your hands as well. The hotel I gave you is literally right off the I-95, you just pull off, no worries about whether they have rooms available or not.

| I was given a tip when we drove it, look for country inn and suites, its a 2 bedroom suite fairly new and its about 79.99 a night. you also get a fridge and mini kitchen so you can prepare supper. They are all along the 95

| oh and one more thing, the first rest stop in each state has a welcome center with coupon books for the hotels, pick one up. It tells you at which exit is each hotel so you can calculate how your driving etc. where you want to stop.
