I don't know what I am doing wrong when I do my washing but many of my clothes and ALL of dh's shirts have water stains on them.
They look like greyish white spots on the white shirts all over the back. The collars and cuffs are black and no matter how much bleach, soaking or scrubbing none of this comes out!
I get so upset each time I iron one of his shirts they are all horrible. Even the ones he doesn't work with (shabbos ones).

I have some black skirts too that have these stains on they look like I dripped water on it and it hasn't dried yet but its washed 1000 times and all stain removers and sprays but still there!
I hate it. It makes the clothes look cheap and like I don't wash them. I bought my machine only a year ago, its meant to be great, but some things just DON'T COME OUT! No matter how many power cycles, fresh water rinses or bleach cleans I do!

I have a frigidaire front loader if it makes a difference.

Any one have this? any ideas what to do besides for get new shirts and try again!?

ETA: My towels also don't look fresh and clean. Any black dirt stains from whatever on any colored towels, seem to still be there...could it be my detergent? I have tried tide, all, arm & hammer and purex. nothing. Crying or Very sad

For white shirts only.
Make shirt very wet. Squirt Cascade gel (gel only - not powder) on stains and black collar and cuffs. Let sit 15 minutes. Scrub out stains with cleaning toothbrush. Repeat as necessary.
Once stains are out, wash shirt in washing machine as usual.
May take some repeated work, but should come out.

This sounds like oil/grease stains. If the shirts haven't gone through the drier yet, you should still be able to get them out.
Take a good look to see where the stains are. Remember the spots. Make garment wet. Squirt dish soap on stains. Use a cleaning toothbrush to scrub out stains. Rinse garment. Repeal dish soap and scrubbing.
Wash garment in washing machine as usual.

You should be washing your towels on the hot cycle. Fill a Downy ball with fabric softener and add to load, to release in the last part of the washing cycle.
You prob won't be able to get out the stains, but at least they'll smell and feel fresh and clean.
(What color are your towels? Maybe I can figure out how to help you get out the stains if you're okay with the towels fading.)
