Every bug-checking guide I have read says that brussel sprouts can't be checked.

It's so interesting because I saw them fresh in gourmet glatt. I wonder why they sell them if you can't check them.

I don't know, but the process they use in freezing might kill the bugs and destroy them in a way that the sprouts are kosher.

I have never eaten brussel sprouts because I didn't grow up with it but I know people either love them or hate them.

Yes, I remember them well...they are delicious, but I haven't eaten them in years. After someone started another thread yesterday looking for recipes, I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy, so I checked around the kashrus websites. This is what I came up with:
http://star-k.org/cons-vegdetail.php?ID=13
http://www.kof-k.org/docs/CheckVegetablesForBugs.pdf
http://www.ok.org/PDF/OK_Veggie_Checking_Guide.pdf

So in a word, no. The Bodek ones are good, though, just super expensive.

Fresh ones do well in a presssure cooker, for just a minute or two. That is high heat. But I don't know about the bug checking issue with that.

You could take them apart and check them and then cooks them. I've seen recipes for shredded ones, cooked and uncooked, but what a patchke!
