| could I make filet mignon like a roast? does anyone have a recipe? I know it should usually be grilled or seared. Please help me, thanks!

Where on earth did you find kosher filet mignon at a semi-reasonable price? (Or maybe you didn't. I know you can get it for $40+ a pound, but that's not happening any time soon for me.)
It would be absolute sacrilege to cook filet mignon like a roast. Its a steak, and a very tender cut of one at that. It should be cooked with high heat. I'd sear it, then finish it in the oven.

You "could" use a recipe from food.com, and there are many highly rated ones there, but I'd let the meat shine through for this one.

| I paid about $10 a pound, I bought 4 slices since I didn't want to buy a whole french roast or something. What would happen if I put the mignon in a pot with onions and sugar, water, wine and cooked it?
