| |
Hey I have a question for all you wonderful mothers out there. I am due to have my first baby soon IYH and am looking into the citi mini. I saw the new 4 wheel model and I actually tried the 3 wheel model as well. I liked them both and the monetary difference from what I saw online is about $200. so my question is to all those that have a 3 wheeler, do u feel like ur missing a wheel? or does the 3 wheel stroller apply to all your needs and r u satisfied with it?
thank you

I think you're referring to a city select, which is a totally different stroller than the city mini. _________________ Smile there, aint you glad your living:)

3 wheel designs aren't "missing" a wheel; they just function differently. Most people find that they maneuver better for turning and so on. What you like better depends partially on your taste and partially on your needs. If you have to deal with broken sidewalks or rough ground or grass a lot, chances are you'll prefer a 3-wheeled stroller.
The City Select (with 4 wheels) is totally different than the City Mini (with 3). The seat can be turned to face towards the parent or towards the front, the basket is bigger, and you can get a second seat that turns it into a double stroller.
The City Mini is meant to be smaller and lighter; the City Select is much bulkier and heavier. People are often comfortable taking a City Mini on a bus or something like that, but that would be really difficult to do with a City Select.
Check out the descriptions of these two strollers on the Baby Jogger website; you'll get a much better idea of which features each has. Also check out the reviews on Babygizmo.com. _________________ http://crunchyandkosher.blogspot.com/

I don't have either of these strollers but I'm pretty sure I've recently seen a citi mini model with 4 wheels online. I think it's new. Maybe google it.
Personally, I prefer 4 wheels to 3 in general, for stability.

| they just came out with a new city mini with 4 wheels. in general carriages with 4 wheels are more stable- I find that the city mini with 3 wheels can tip over quite easily when using it with the bassinet.

| Does anyone have experience with the city mini 4 wheeler? Is it really more stable? Would get it but it weighs 9 kgs instead of the 3 wheelers 7.5 kg, so not sure it's worth it.

If I were buying a new stroller I would go for the four wheel version. I find three wheel strollers tippy and it makes me nervous. Going up and down curbs and stairs on three wheels can be an issue. I would rather not take the risk with my baby in the stroller. _________________ Liba, mommy to Zlata Tova 5/6/98, Tziporah Faiga 1/12/01, Esther Rivka 7/13/04 and Avraham Chaim 7/2/2006

Thanks. In Israel the 4 wheel is only 100 nis more than the 3 wheel, 1600 nis instead of 1500 nis. The main reason I'm still thinking of getting the 3 wheel is because it weighs around 4.lbs less, that could make a difference in lifting it into and out of a car.
With a 3 wheel can you only get a bus\curb backwards?

| There's a very bumpy cobbled path to our house, with bumpy steps - which is better for that?
