I used sunny's recipe - http://imamother.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1494358#1494358

I substituted cottage cheese for farmer's cheese and gevinah levana for cream cheese, and blended it in the food processor to get a good consistency. It was really yummy.

(If I made it again, I think I would switch the amounts of cottage cheese and gevinah levanah - like more cottage cheese than gevinah levana - cuz cottage is thicker, I think it would be better.)

That would be my recipe above... Wink
If you want to make the gvina levana more like cream cheese, put it into a clean 10 denier stocking and hang it over a bowl--the water will be strained out and it'll be harder.
And they do have farmer cheese in Israel. So you just need to replace the cream cheese really--I made it in England last year and I used soft cheese, so I don't think it needs to be exactly like american cream cheese!
It's delicious!

Gad cream cheese is under the hashgacha of rav ruben, so it is possible just to use cream cheese even here.

Right, I just used gevinah levana and cottage cheese cuz they're cheaper and easier to find in my stores Smile
They worked well. Smile

I think Tuv Taam by Tara can be used instead of farmer cheese. It comes in a package shaped like farmer cheese.

I just saw something in the store this morning from Tuv Taam...it was wrapped in wax paper in a package, kind of like how they sell Chermon cheese...it said gevinah levanah something something but it was much firmer than gvinah levanah is.

Is THAT what you're all talking about? Smile

It sounds like that's it. I'll have to check when I go to the store tomorrow and let you know. There used to be only one product called Tuv Taam - this year they added a few more, although the one you just mentioned sounds like the right one.
