I know from the other side. When mil would come after baby was born and everything was flying everywhere it was not fun. Although I love her n all.
Oh and raisin I'm selfish I want the benefits of having kids and an easy life oxymoron I know. I was actually asking because wondering if the next baby will be easier . |
not necessarily. DH is very connected to his family and we spend a lot of time visiting them.
But really, I have not seen that boys or girls or easier. Some kids have special needs or difficult personalities which may make them harder. (colic, learning issues, health issues) Iyh your children should be healthy and happy in all ways, boys or girls.

But raisin, when parents get older it's usually the daughters that are there for them, not the sons. (I said usually, not always. My ILs have four sons living in the same city and two daughters overseas. The sons are very devoted, while the daughters are limited in what they can do since they're not here.)
I guess I chose all boys when I was asked because that's what I have, b"h.

Well, I have two boys, so I would say...girls!
I grew up in a girly family, and I can deal with the girly stuff but I don't understand boys at all! Also what previous posters said are true, boys really leave you, but girls will stick with you always...
I want a girl (or three) so badly! But there are obviously good points to both (boys are emotionally easier in a way, and they can do all the heavy stuff ) and I love my little men and wouldn't want to NOT have them now that I do, so I want a mix, definitely. But more girls than boys. _________________ Mommy to

Girls.
After our second DS was born, a friend of the family was talking to DH... DH was saying how wonderful boys were.... the friend (an older man, a grandfather) said that when you are older, boys leave you and become busy with their own lives. Girls are the ones who will take care of you in your old age. _________________ See my ad to buy pregnancy tests and ovulation tests in Israel for a great price. http://imamother.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=136877&highlight=pregnancy+tests

| bh I have one girl and the rest boys. so I get my boys who roll around fighting, dd joins in too, lol. and then my girl and my boys play doll house and princess and storming the castle. I am worried they will grow up and I have to deal with dil, being on this site is scaring me about being a mil.

I'm with Sarahd, I must have told God that I want all boys because that's what He gave me!
The only real concern is if I need help when I'm old. I think it is hard to burden a daughter-in-law with caring for a MIL, however a daughter would expect to care for her mother.
May we all grow old gracefully and be able to manage on our own until the last day - "al tashlecheini l'ais ziknah..." _________________ Visit HelpEllen.com whenever you shop at Amazon.com!

| the funny thing is when I was a teacher I thought that boys were easier, no fights like she looked at me I'm not your friend and then sulking. I guess hashem gave me what I wanted. a girl to name after my mother and then my boys. I did want a mix and dd really wants a sister, but they would be at least 7.5 years apart.

Boys because that's what I have. If I only have more boys id be happy. I could never think of giving either up.
And DH takes care of his parents and I live much further from mine so you never know right?

Love my 4 boys. Can't imagine raising a house full of girls, but one or 2 would be nice. _________________ http://aroundthedinnertable.blogspot.com/

You know... girls may be closer as a whole but a family isn't a stat. A son may care more for you than a daughter, or even a DIL than a daughter or a SIL than a son. It's all so individual.
I'm happy BH I have one of each. I dream of three of each. _________________

you know that they can still be close to each other, not as young kids but once both of them are married (I know cuz I'm 9 yrs apart from the sister closest in age to me.
and yes I would definitely choose girls

I have all girls and I am delighted with them. My daughter has all boys (so far) and would love to have a
little girl. They should all be healthy and wealthy!! _________________ always be what you is, and never what you isn't, cuz if you is what you isn't, you isn't what you is.

Before I had kids, I would've said for sure all girls. But now -4 boys and 2 girls later - I think if I had to choose only one gender, I would say all boys. I was never a "girly" girl, and I find I have trouble relating to my girly girl. (My other daughter is more of a tomboy.) _________________ That's the way the cookie crumbles...
