So my DS will be almost 3 when newborn arrives iyH and I can't figure out what to do. This is my situation. I currently have the bumbleride flyer which I loved at first (features are exactly what I want, reversible, large canopy, lies flat etc) but recently I've began to hate it due to steering issues. Its hard to maneuver! Honestly, I believe it had this issue once we reversed to child facing out position but he was still pretty light then and only got worse as ds got heavier. So I decided to get rid of it, but haven't yet.
So now that I'm preg I need a double and wanted to get a new single to replace the bumbleride. But this is my confusion. What happens in situations where I only need to take one child out? Lets say I take my 3yr old to pg and baby stays home with DH. Then I want to go out with baby during the day.
I'm so confused what do people do? Do they have one infant carriage, one umbrella carriage and a double? CONFUSING.
Also, I had the same issue with the crib I bought DS. I got a convertible type thinking I'd put him into a toddler bed from the crib. But now I'm just going to buy him a bed and use the crib for the baby. Which I find to be a stupid thing I did, which was also same with my highchair. DS now uses it as a booster (its a 3in1) and when baby comes I dont have a highchair, so need to get another one! How silly?!
What do you use for newborn near your bed until you transfer them to a crib in another room? I've been debating between a porta-crib and a rocker such as this: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3997259
And highchair suggestions? I want something not too bulky but would recline and has 4 wheels.
Sorry so many questions - this is just flying through my mind!! Thanks for reading & appreciate your answers

You have a few options... maybe a sit-and-stand stroller like the Joovy... it's a bit bigger than a regular stroller and has a board for the older child to sit or stand on.
You could also get a Phil&Ted stroller... that's not so much bigger than a regular stroller.
City Select is probably your best good option, you can take off one of the seats when you use it for one child... it's really quite a versatile double stroller.
I have three small children (oldest is 3 years, 4 months) and you don't want to know how many strollers I have..lol. I have 4 actually. I have the Peg Perego Skate (which I used for the new baby) and that as a 'jump seat' so I can take one of the older ones in it. I also have the Peg Perego Duette (it's a great double stroller, but very large.. super-easy to steer though). And then I have a simple Graco umbrella stroller which lives in my middle son's nursery school during the week. We also have a Graco Quattro, which is bulky and clunky, but it's easy to fit two kids in it. (no, it's not a double, just a single stroller that folds all the way down and has lots of space). The seats on the Perego Duette go all the way down, so I can fit two kids in one seat... although I think it's killing the stroller.
I am shopping for a triple stroller... yes, really. _________________ See my ad to buy pregnancy tests and ovulation tests in Israel for a great price. http://imamother.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=136877&highlight=pregnancy+tests

Get a stroller that converts easily from a single to a double - Britax B-Ready, City Select, Phil and Teds (there are lots). You could also do a Valco Trimode with a joey seat, which is great for a toddler and a newborn.
Get a toddler-specific booster that goes on a reguolar chair for your older child, 2 high chairs is unnecessary and will take up too much space!
I'm planning to get an arms reach cosleeper (prob from craigslist) when I have a baby, b/c that's really all that will fit in my bedroom; what you get depends on how much room you have and what you plan to do in terms of moving to a crib. I used a pack n play with a bassinette attachment before, but its too big for my bedroom now. If you have the space in your kids' room, you can move DS from the crib straight to a twin bed, or you could get one of those Ikea beds that expands from toddler to twin size. Buying a convertible crib wasnt stupid, most of them are made that way anyways, so don't sweat it. _________________ http://crunchyandkosher.blogspot.com/

how tall are you? the ABC adventure buggy sounds exactly what you need but pricey.

I'm not sure the difference between an infant carriage and an umbrella carriage, but many people do have an umbrella stroller that can be used for newborns or a sturdy single and perhaps a cheap umbrella that doesn't recline at all. Most people who get a double still have a single from what I've seen.

Yeah. B"H for having another baby to use things for. I don't get car seats that convert to boosters as I can just pass them down to the next kid and get a booster alone. By the time your baby is ready for a high chair, though, your son likely won't need a booster. Even my short 2 year old doesn't use a booster usually -- she just sits on her knees on the regular chair.
I use a pac n play. That bassinet is not worth it as it can't be dismantled to be stored and is a huge space hog.

Why not keep the one you have? If you still want a booster for your son, you can get a dedicated booster. _________________ http://a-natural-birth.com
