Female name for Yosef please

My husbands grandfather just passed away and we were thinking of perhaps giving our baby who is due in August his name which is Yosef. If its a boy no prob, but if its a girl, we are a bit stuck. I suggested Yosefa but my husband doesnt like it. Any other ideas please?

Dina is Yosef's wife. There is a story where a new father was mistakenly told he had a girl. He name the baby Rivka. (Some people name a baby girl at the first Torah reading)When he found out that it was really a boy they asked what to to. The rav, a gadol, advised them to name the baby Yitzchak ,as "ishto k'gufo"

Id also save yosef for a boy, but if youre really set on it, I agree with the poster who said osnas...the only thing is that it is a very unusual name and a child might be embarrassed as a result.

I absolutely LOVE the name Josephina. Not exactly sure how it's pronounced in Hebrew (Yosephina, Yosepha?), but it's just so beautiful to my ears.

really not a fan of the name Yosefa. I would save the name for a boy. I would also suggest that some people do not name girls after boys or give them a masculine name like Yosefa because they may have male attributes. But this is all up to your Rav,

You can do a name that starts with a Y like Yael, Yehudis, etc.

What about a name related to righteousness because of Yosef Ha'Tzadik...

There are halachic shaylas with naming a child after the opposite gender. You may want to speak to a rov.

Besides the fact that the names Ruevena, David, Yisroela, etc. are sort of odd.

What about a name like Nechama or Menucha, which avoids the "boy's name for a girl" issue if that is a problem for you?
