Yes of course. You call the information and they say, you go to house number three in the street XYZ, then turn to the left there is a door with no number - don't confuse with the door next to it, which looks exactly the same - and behind it, there is mikveh.... This is what I am talking about.
Ill give you another thing to think about. I have been to quite a few mikvahot (more so out of israel) where mikvah ladies do not cover their hair. I am trying to think if they were wearing pants or not, but definitely no hair covering at all, so on the street, you would not have identified them as jewish.......

Well, if I see a woman in such an environment, of course I can assume that she is Jewish and has a notion of taharas hamishpacha. I am not sure that it gives me a reason to assume the same thing about any woman I meet in a neutral setting.

Not to mention the fact that a mikveh lady does not have to be married...

My only question, OP, is how you have the opportunity to notice everyone around you doing aveiros, to the extent that you'd like to change the common interpretation of the halacha for yourself and move out.

I notice when people do something wrong if they advertise it. Otherwise, I can't say I notice aveiros going on left and right.

But then you want to change your appearance to a less-religious look and not be judged for it.

I think I've gotten myself confused now too.

I apologize in advance, since I only read the first couple of posts, but all I can say is that I come from a MO background and moved far-right in response to the hypocrisy that I saw growing up. OTOH, ds got turned off to our derech by the hypocrisy that he saw in school.

in other words - hypocrisy is all over, since people are people - flawed and imperfect. the bottom line is that you need to choose a derech that you can believe in and feel comfortable with all the way down the line, and then you try to be as true to it as you can.
