...how many of you have Harry Potter avatars/quotes?

I know we are graced with the presence of our (dearly departed) oh-so-wise headmaster, and I thought I saw an escaped convict lurking somewhere...and then there's me, humbly delivering messages. There's at least one delightful Rowling quote, as well.

Come out from under your Invisibilty Cloaks, ladies! Let's hear from you! Even Slytherins (ahem!)

Should I start reading the series? I tried to once upon a time and couldn't bring myself to finish... even the first book. But, I'm kinda starting to feel a lil left out here Wink

Don't, especially this time of year. You will not be able to do anything else until you finish the thing. And if you didn't like it to begin with, it's not worth it to lose entire nights of sleep.

I never did choose an avatar but my screen name is half potter reference, half meaning. Actually mostly meaning but the Potter allusion was far from accidental. So I'll count myself in and take care of the avatar later.

I miss the suspense and deeply miss having a Potter book to read that I'm not already very familiar with. But still a fan.

One day this will make me feel very dated indeed. Confused

I'm honored! Wish I was acting (not feeling) more house elf-ish myself...

I totally missed that! I always just thought you meant that you're a seeker...of truth, I guess.

I can't believe I missed the HP reference! I too thought 'seeker' was spiritually based. LOL. Great name!

But enneamom, that is a reference to personality numbers, right?

I'm going to have to add a HP reference somehow, as an avid fan of the books (not the movies).

Yup, it's referring to the enneagram personality system. Have you heard of it?

And ITA about the books. Although I do like the earlier ones better than the last few.

I didn't watch the last two movies (Deathly Hallows parts 1 and 2).

But give the books another try -- they are just so much fun to read. And yeah, her sentence structure is atrocious sometimes, and her word choice can be repetitive, and there are too many characters. Still awesome.

My family is totally into the enneagram. My DD is doing her bagrut art project on it. Sound cute?

I can't believe you didn't finish the series, folks. You are missing out on the two best books in the series! I've read all the books twice as well as outloud to my kids. (Of course I skipped over the snogging parts!) Such fun.

I love harry potter. And I once almost met JK rowling but I was too shy to go up to her and talk to her. (we were at the same wedding) One of my big regrets in life.

I was actually so obsessed with the books that I stopped watching the movies altogether somewhere in the beginning of the series because of any inconsistencies with the books/ the characters didn't look like I imagined them too. But WOW is she an incredible writer.

I wonder if I will continue to get turned off when I read Joanne's next book (which will have nothing at all to do with the HP series) as I sense I will.

Oh sorry, enneamom, my avatar is totally unrelated, but I like the topic too much to ignore!

Not a HP fan at all. The first I got through feeling bored honestly. Another male wiz kid book. Ho hum. But my family loved it.
