what do you serve your family from the time you kasher your kitchen for Pesach and when Yom Tov actually starts?
I'm kind of at a loss for SIMPLE (since I am going to be doing heavy duty yom tov cooking both before and after dinner each night), fleishig or pareve (not kashering our milchig oven!) recipes that will not get us sick of chicken, meat or potatoes before Pesach even starts.
Any creative ideas?

| Whatever soup I'm cooking they can eat. Deli, baked potatoes, french fries.

burgers and fries
meatballs in the crockpot served w quinoa or spaghetti squash or mashed potatoes
hot dogs and potato dish
deli salad with pesach croutons
or serve something else that you wouldn't normally serve on Pesach but that is still KLP _________________ Really Awesome Mom!

Chicken, meatballs, hamburgers, kitnios like rice or canned corn, pizza outside or in the pizza shop, frozen french fries, soups, etc.
Snacks are all kosher l'pesach.

I spent yesterday evening making pizza dough and baking crusts with sauce on them. Today I made many pans of different types of cooked (milchig) pastas.
I am IY"H turning over the kitchen motzei Shabbos, almost a week before Pesach. At that time my dairy toaster oven will be brought to the back yard (I have a wide window sill to put it on where it is protected from the rain) and the chometz meals will be eaten outside on the picnic table.
I have grated cheese and frozen cut up vegetables to put on the pizzas before they are heated. The pasta gets heated in the pans it was frozen in and eaten on disposable dishes.
We also bbq which makes everone happy, if I have the time and energy.
Just because I insist on turning over and starting my cooking early doesn't mean Pesach needs to last two week or people have to starve. _________________ Liba, mommy to Zlata Tova 5/6/98, Tziporah Faiga 1/12/01, Esther Rivka 7/13/04 and Avraham Chaim 7/2/2006

| Either BBQ or cook pesachdig hot dogs and hamburgers and eat them outside with buns - cook pesachdig, eat chometz! I know I'm not interested in eating pesachdig for an extra week. Buy bagels and cream cheese - eat outside. buy pizza. Need one more idea...

| Also, erev yom tov, I make delicious hot dog, potato stew. My mother makes a huge vegetable soup and serves potato kugel. Don't want to be starving at the seder...

my kids now either get chicken suppers or a ground meat dish like burgers or meatballs or whatever I am making for yt their is no reason to starve and I have veggies like all yr.

even though its not my hot dog potato stew figure id write up mine if anyone wants a variety
saute an onion add potatoes that were cut up into 4ths (or 8ths if large), and put in water til it just barely covers the poatoes. I add salt, pepper, chicken soup mix and grate a red pepper on top. cook this for about 40 min then add sliced hot dogs for another 20 or so.

Yeah, it's really important to have some sort of chometz set- up, if at all possible. Mine is my toaster oven & microwave in the basement.
Anyway, you know that only one fifth on the Jews actually went out of Mitzrayim.
That's because the other four fifths died of starvation 'cuz it was erev Pesach and there was nothing to eat!
