I don't know if I am posting this in the right section...

Today, being such a beautiful day I decided to walk to the grocery. I am absolutely horrified how many children were outside without being watched!!!

I saw a little girl two or three years old, walking outside her house in front of one of the new 306 houses with no one watching her, maybe mommy was watching through the window but that doesn't really help much!
I watched a 7-8 year old push a double carriage with two little kids inside on one of the busy streets...
A little boy was waiting for his even younger brothers bus with no Mommy at his side...

Last year my friend was driving and almost crashed into a little child that ran into the street. Shaken and horrified she knocked on the door. A sweet young mother on the phone opened with a smile and said, oh thank you so much...when she went on to explain what happened the mother said, yes Monsey is a dangerous place for young kids.. Hello, I almost killed your child!!

Monsey mothers, do you seriously let your children outside without someone old enough to watch them?!

I live in Monsey, and what you are describing is sadly something I see every day- in the 306 area in particular just like you described. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE BASHFUL/JUDGMENTAL and I DO NOT look down on chassidim at all, but usually the kids I see alone roaming the streets and 4 year olds pushing carriages are chassidim. Its a fact. I have yet to see a non-chassidish 3 year old walking the streets/playing alone. Again this is not meant to be bashful- I think its just their mentality that little kids are more mature, I dont know! But I agree with you that it makes me very nervous!!

Big time!
To add to my nervous... I was in a taxi today, at one point he starts laughing out loud and points, "look look", pointing to the most shocking scene. A little boy just managing to push the carriage, pushing his little sister with two little boys following behind him, again on 306! Where is Mommy and Totty?! He was laughing saying, the youngest dad I have ever seen, but I was so embarrassed and just responded, that's really dangerous.

OUCH!!!

Monsey Mother leaving Kids out on Rt 306, Boro Park Mothers leaving babies outside of the stores, Lakewood parents leaving kids in the cars.. Whats the point of this post? Are you trying to make us aware of something we dont know? Yes you will find irresponsible mothers everywhere.

This is super super dangerous - and yes, unfortunately you see it in several communities. Maybe someone can get coverage in one of the magazines that the ladies read - binah, ami or family first? It would really raise awareness.

No. You don't find irresponsible mothers everywhere. Yes, I do believe op is trying to make us aware.

Unfortunately, those children whose mothers leave them outside will in turn leave their kids outside unattended.. If this chain is broken for only one family, then op will have done real good.

Where else but here, would these mothers get educated?

I actually saw something today, I was so impressed. I bought the kosher brand of cheerios which I dont normally do, and on the side there were a whole bunch of tips about not leaving your child unattended- EVER. was nice to see that.

No, my post was not a vent - yes, it was to make mothers aware.
It kills me to watch mother being so irresponsible... Personally, if I would see the mother I would say something, but since when I see kids without parents I can't tell them, I am communicating it here where frum women connect!

If you are aware of it, do something about it! Don't let innocent children get hurt because their parents are not aware of the danger - SPEACK UP!!
