Title says it all. I just want ideas please- anything that comes to mind. EDD a few days before Tisha B'av.

My son was born on the 8th of Av - his name is Nadav, which only now did I realize has the word "Av" in it Smile

Also due around then ( due date is on Shiva Aser Betamuz) with a boy!

Thinking of names too, but so far have not agreed on anything.

I like Menachem, but the idea of him learning how to write his name (at least in English) is scary...

(I guess that's the teacher in me, I always fee bad for those "long named" kids!)

thanks for the ideas- some to think about! I actually don't love names with a "ch" and already have an Aryeh Smile

My friend's daughter is Ora and she was born at the end of Av- bc of the pasuk "hamakom inachem aleicheim ve yotzeai mitzarah.....meafleah (connected to tisha bav) le ORA (to our hopes for upcoming elul)...." so maybe you can do Ori or Uriel....

Akiva is because of the story with Rebi Akiva who laughed when he saw foxes in the ruins of the Beis Hamikdash. (He said the same way the first nevuah about the foxes came true, the nevuah that the Beis Hamikdash will be rebuilt will also come true.)

If we hadn't had a family name, DS who was born in Av, would probably have been Akiva Menachem.

My dh was born erev Tisha B'av and his name is Yeshaya.

DS is Meir Simcha, named after the Ohr Somayach of Dvinsk who passed away in the late 1800's. He didn't have children, so it is considered a zchus of sorts to name after him. I call him "Light and Happy" sometimes and he has a very sunny disposition, as do a few other Meir Simcha's whom I know.
