DENTAL INSURANCE-PLAN

hi, so we have no dental plan, just regular medical insurance, and hubby's boss does not want to invest in this plan for his employees. we live in new jersey, new jersey and when we visit the dentist we pay cash, therefore we dont visit often. I know its bad but thats the situation. are there any plans we can take care of on our own, that will give us discounts on checkups, cleanings, how about orthodontists, how do you receive discounts for braces or other dental work at the orthodontist when u need them? thanks alot!

There aren't that many plans that you can buy into individually.

The one that we tried was a disaster. The drs have to pay to be in the plan, and therefore have to make up the fees by either inventing procedures that you don't need, or otherwise doing unscrupulous things, like cleaning only half your mouth at a time, or some such. Or the offices are filthy. Or the help is substandard.

You get what you pay for. Find a dentist that you like and go regularly. It's worth it.
