I just got 2 of these emails, from the kashrus
(please note this is in australia)

URGENT KASHRUS ALERT ***

Effective immediately, the Kosher approval on ALL

7-Eleven Slurpees is suspended until further notice.

Oh wow Ozmom- thanks for letting me know! How do you find out about these things? Is there an email list?

Yes.
When you subscribe for you kashrus list you get a few options.
palm or book

then updates you can get via snail mail or email.
email obviously is the quickest providing you check it often enough.
You must always make sure to have an updated list.
Call the kashrus and ask them about it.

From what I heard the company had an agreement with kosher australia and was meant to warn kashrus of the recipe change but they neglected to and it was only confirmed 2 days after the change.

Normally we get updates saying, from such and such a date ........will no longer be under kosher australia aproval, but this was different.
I hope not too many people were nichshal.

Please be aware that the Slurpee alert is ONLY in Australia. For information on Slurpee's in America, the Chicago Rabbinical Council's website has a list of all the kosher slurpee flavors. Their address is www.crcweb.org.
They also have a free email alert system you can sign up for, for all kashrus related alerts. It's a very informative website, and very well done.

thanks for that...didn't know! DH saw a notice in shul did but forgot to communicate it. I am meant to be getting updates via email but have recieved none all year...Now I know there is an issue so will give melb kosher a call...Shabbat shalom all.

Oh my, I would be so sad without my Slurpees. I hope this issue does not spread to the US!!!!
