Cut off the hairy part and the end bit. Cut in half. Hold each half under cold water the white part fasing downwards, wash, check both halves, should be clean and bug free now!

| or cut off the tops then make a slit down the side, rinse, check inside for bugs.

| How much of the top do I have to cut off? All the way until the solid part?

| According to CRC: Cut along length of scallion and check for bugs inside the scallion and around the area protruding from the bulb. Discard the roots.
